She graduated summa cum laude from Emory University and, after living in Washington, D.C. for several years, returned to Denver to attend the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. After receiving her Juris Doctor, she served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable J. Keith Collins in the 20th Judicial District, where she primarily worked on civil and domestic relations cases.
